Our Story

15 Years Helping People Choose Coverage Confidently

We're an independent agency — not tied to any one carrier — so our advisors recommend what actually fits your life, your family, and your business.

A Note from the Founder

We built Main Street for the businesses that are too small for a CFO and too important to ignore.

The big benefits brokers chase 200-employee accounts. The do-it-yourself portals leave family-owned shops to guess at SHOP eligibility, ICHRA design, and what happens when a part-time employee turns 26. Main Street sits in the middle — a licensed independent agency that takes 1-to-10-employee businesses seriously.

We started after watching too many friends — a print shop in Cincinnati, a hardware store in El Paso, a family-run hotel in Macon — pay carrier "off-the-rack" pricing because no one explained that a group plan with one non-family employee unlocks the SHOP tax credit. That changes the math by thousands of dollars a year.

So we designed an agency around small-business benefits the way a tailor designs a suit: by hand, for the person standing in front of the mirror.

Principles

Three things we don't compromise on.

01

We don't work for the carriers.

Main Street is independent. We represent the small businesses we serve, not the insurance companies. Same commission whichever plan you choose — so the recommendation reflects what fits your business.

02

We design for the owner who's also the bookkeeper.

We assume you're closing books at midnight and don't want a 90-page benefits binder. Plans are written up in one page of plain English, with the trade-offs spelled out next to the numbers.

03

We stay on the renewal.

Most agents go quiet after enrollment. We don't. Annual rate review, mid-year claim help, new-hire onboarding — that's the relationship, not just the sale.

Mission

"Health insurance that pencils out for the family-run shop, the four-person studio, and every main-street business in between."

Business Accounts

Three main-street stories.

Three generations of a Black family smiling behind the counter of their family-owned restaurant on a warm afternoon
01

We were quoted a group plan that would have cost us our entire payroll tax savings. Main Street redesigned the whole thing around the fact that three of our employees are family — and we kept everyone covered.

02

Mi agente me explicó todo en español. We compared SHOP with individual plans for my employees, and we ended up with a group plan plus an HRA that worked better for everyone.

María R. · Family-owned hardware store · El Paso, TX (4 employees)

Indian-American family standing in the lobby of their small family-owned hotel, warm welcoming atmosphere
03

Eight of us, three on different schedules. The hybrid group-plus-individual strategy they built kept the full-time crew on a real plan and reimbursed the part-time staff fairly. Renewal was painless.
